• Discussion Session on Hydropower:

NYEF with support from Butwal Power Company (BPC) organized a discussion session titled "Enticing Young Entrepreneurs into Developing Hydropower Resource of Nepal" on March 3, 2006 at the premises of the Butwal Power Company, Kumaripati.

Mr. Vinay Bhandari, Secretary / Executive Committee of Butwal Power Company Ltd; gave a presentation on the hydro sector of Nepal and how hydro resource can be developed in Nepal. Mr. Bhandari briefed on the power sector and the current pace of hydro development of Nepal. He also explained the features, opportunities as well as challenges of the hydro business in Nepal.

The discussion was fruitful. All the members got chance to clear their queries relating to the hydro power business. Mr. Bhanadari answered all the queries raised along with some good examples. He also suggested the ways of getting involving in the hydro business.

To explore more on the hydropower projects/business, NYEF plans to arrange a trip to one of the Hydro Power plant of BPC in near future.
